Elyse's career started in the 80s where she worked her way rapidly up the
marketing ladder at Virgin and CBS Records breaking acts in a wide variety
of genres. She was poached from a Marketing Manager job at Associated Virgin
Labels to become Marketing Director at the legendary A&M Records in 1989.
She enjoyed a hugely successful couple of years at A&M where the company
turned round from a period in the doldrums to become a hot label again. Next
came an approach by Warner Music's recently formed East West label to take
the job as Marketing Director of a growing domestic roster and the wealth of
the Atlantic label from the USA. Elyse consolidated her career at East West and
her talent for delivering massive sales was truly established. She marketed the
biggest-selling albums in the UK in 1991, 1992 Simply Red 'Stars' and 1998
The Corrs 'Talk on Corners’ . A change of senior management at East West
and Warners in 1999 resulted in an exciting new phase at the company and
the breaking of David Gray 'White Ladder' to phenomenal success.
After receiving and turning down several approaches whilst at East West ,
Elyse was offered an irresistible and challenging new job in 2001 as General
Manager of Marketing at a newly-restructured Polydor Records. This involved
building up and overseeing the activities of two separate marketing departments;
Polydor UK (home of a variety of highly successful UK acts) and Polydor
Associated Labels (including the massive US label Interscope Records).
In Feb 2004 Elyse was asked to take on a new role within Universal Music in order
to build up the marketing strength in another area of the business. However she
decided that the time had come for her to realise a long-standing ambition to
become her own boss and launched ETM with Polydor as her first client.
